Prismatic battery

Abstract

本发明的课题在于获得一种能够确保预先设定焊接电池罐与电池盖之间的焊接部的焊接强度的方形电池。本发明的方形电池(1)具备被四个侧壁部包围的电池罐亦即侧壁部的高度方向一侧的上端部开口且在高度方向另一侧的下端部具有底面部的电池罐(100)以及焊接于电池罐的上端部并密封电池罐的电池盖(200),上述方形电池的特征在于,具有如下结构:在电池罐与电池盖之间形成有与侧壁部的高度方向交叉的横向的横界面(Fx)以及与横界面交叉并沿着侧壁部的高度方向的纵向的纵界面(Fy),通过向沿着侧壁部的高度方向的纵向照射的激光(EB)焊接横界面的至少一部分与纵界面的至少一部分。
The problem of the present invention is to provide a prismatic battery in which a welded portion where a battery can and a battery lid are welded can ensure a predetermined welding strength. The prismatic battery (1) of the present invention comprises: a battery can (100) surrounded by four side wall portions, opened at the upper end on one side in the height direction of the side wall portions, and having a bottom portion at the lower end on the other side in the height direction; and a battery lid (200) welded to the upper end of the battery can and sealing the battery can. A lateral boundary surface (Fx) in a lateral direction intersecting with the height direction of the side wall portions and a longitudinal boundary surface (Fy) intersecting with the lateral boundary surface and being in a longitudinal direction along the height direction of the side wall portions are formed between the battery can and the battery lid. In the prismatic battery (1), at least part of the lateral boundary surface and at least part of the longitudinal boundary surface are irradiated with a laser (EB) beam in the longitudinal direction along the height direction of the side wall portions and welded to each other.
